The Secretary Box

Kathy from The Paper Phenomenon is truly phenomenal. I love seeing the things she designs and creates. You can find her website here: This is a pattern I purchased from her site to make as a gift. This is my first one. Few trials and errors, but my husband looked and looked and he can't figure out what they are. :) Guess it's just us that create it that really notice huh? Anyways.. Great to put cards in, bills I'd guess, etc. Love that there's a little drawer on top too that you could house a few pens in. I'll have to create one for myself next. The paper line on this one is a stack called 'Antiquities' by gcd studio's. I picked it up at Michaels. :)

I've gotten into making banners. One of my favorite cartridges lately is the new Ribbons and Rosettes one. I'm in the process of finishing my Christmas Banner. This is my Thanksgiving one. I used Snapshot Nature to do the Rosettes. A lot of people have a hard time figuring out what to use the Snapshot cartridges for. The nature one is one of my favorite ones. I've used the tree pattern for limbs or tree trunks. I've used the various floral for flowers. It's always just been a mix of things.

School Ideas

As usual, I have a million things going on. I do actually find time to be creative. I even remember to take pictures! I tend to post things on the messageboard, but then forget to do so here. Figure I'd put some things up.
Above is a back to school bulletin board I did. Kids loved it. My classroom happens to be at the end of the hall where all the kids come in each morning, so I try to think of bulletin boards that have words of wisdom, positive things, etc. on them. I laminated the MP3 players so I could use a dry erase pen on them. That way next year I can write something different on them if I want or use them within my classroom.
My learning targets. I thought Hello Kitty would be more fun than the little targets. I also have a few students that love Hello Kitty.

Cricut Circle Sketch Challenge

This is my final entry for the Cricut Circle Blogaversary challenges. This was based off of a sketch. I love how I found this Image on an Imagine cartridge and it's connected together with a phone cord. This is from the Imagine cartridge Better Together. :)

Circle Blogaversary Challenges

It's the one year anniversary of the Cricut Circle Blog. As a result, they're doing different challenges for contests. So each of these is for a different one. One is made entirely with the Cricut Imagine. I printed the two backgrounds from All Wrapped Up. The layer flower is from Country Carnival. I added some Glossy Accents to the flower also. The layout I did was to follow a recipe. The paper is from DCWV Tye dye. Quite fitting for the pictures don't you think? I then used the Phrases cartridge for the Feelin' Groovy. The Peace symbols were from the Car Decals cartridge. I then added some buttons to frame the picture a little (as we needed 3 buttons as part of the recipe) :)Thanks for looking! :)

Cricut Circle - Echo Park Magazine Challenge

The September magazine challenge for the Cricut Circle was to use something from Echo Park. I used their Be Mine collection. Someone had sort of put things into a shadow box when we got married. Scrapbooking was not something I was into back then. I did stamp all my own wedding invitations though. So, I took apart the shadow box and decided to redo a series type thing of shadow boxes. These are sitting on the frames they are going in at the moment. Our wedding colors were a rose pink and a greyish blue so this paperline worked out perfect. I ended up not incorporating any blue in for these three. I do still have one more to do at some point that has our wedding invitation and some other flowers. This was one of the corsages from the wedding, a napkin from the wedding and hard to see I know but some left over lace from my wedding dress. I hand sewed all the beeds etc. on the lace for my wedding dress. I have no desire to do that again. :) The cricut cartridges I used was Elegant Edges for the frames for the pictures. I used Gypsy Wanderings font for the wedding date (hard to see in the picture as it's grey) and then Sweethearts for all the other cuts. Thanks! :) Khrista

More projects

My last pic of a Relay for Life page. I forgot to mention that on one of them you see some Mickey heads attached to the side of the page. Those are letters for them to have it say Disney 'Land' or 'World' depending on who won it and where they'd been/going. I found that 4.5" and 5" seemed to work best for the Disney characters.

Winter Layout: On this one is a layout for the Cricut Circle's online SWARM challenge. The theme is Christmas/Winter. I used my Cricut Imagine for everything on this one, papers and images. I used Enjoy the Seasons and Snow Angel. We had either a layout sketch to use or a card sketch. I opted to do a layout. I have some pictures of my girls playing in the snow that I had in mind when I created this.

Family is Everything: I just bought the Teresa Collins cartridge 'Sophisticated' and of course had to use it! The paper is from the DCWV Lemmon Stack. I LOVE the colors in this stack so much that I've bought two of them now. The flower is layers from the Mother's Bouquet cartridge. I think I'll frame it and put it in our one living room that has green walls.

Disney Relay For Life pages - Set 3

If anyone knows an easier way than multiple posts, I'd love to know! :)

Disney Layouts for Relay for Life - Set 2

Guess I can only upload so many at a time. :)

Disney Pages for Relay For Life Set 1

I'm not quite sure how I ended up doing this. I was at a school board meeting and chatting with a colleague I worked with last year. She's a fantastic para-educator in one of our elementary schools. Anyways, she helps to head up the Relay For Life for our side of the county. Big undertaking I think. The theme this year was 'Wish Upon a Cure' and I commented that would be cool to make some scrapbook layouts with disney characters. Next thing I know, I've said sure to making a bunch! No idea how much it may have brought in, but I did enjoy making the pages. I keep learning new things as I go with scrapbooking. I still thinking making cards is easier! Maybe it is the less room to have to figure out, I don't know.

More Projects

I like this one I think the best so far. I just like the castle in the background etc. Jasmine was my youngest (5 at the time) favorite princess when we went. For years it had been the Little Mermaid, but then she changed about a month before we went on our trip.

Catch up time

Ok, I set the blog as my home page and I'm still not updating it! lol. I've been busy creating this summer though. So, time to start posting pics of things I've done. I'll start with all my Disney Layouts. We went to Disneyland for the first time last summer. This will be my first ever scrapbook when it's finished. I'm happy with how the pages are so far. I got really thrilled when they made the Cricut Chirp. All of the images were created using my Imagine. I love this machine, even though I've had to return a few since the launch. I love having it spit out a mat with all my layers on it. I often do not do the black layer though in ink and just use black cardstock. The ink does smear and so when I use glue, my tip on the glue pen ends up black. The black also seems to really saturate the paper. I suppose I could try it on the more draft quality and may one of these days. :) The one that says 'The End' and 'Memories' are two of the layouts from a bunch of pages I made and donated to a Relay for Life team that they then put into an album for an auction. I'll post pics of those too .

Summer TIme!

Well, I made it to the end of the school year and starting up a new program for the district. :) I'm debating going back into administration though too. Pro's and Con's to it. Just finished up a bunch of layouts for a Disney scrapbook that I made to donate to a Relay for Life team. I killed my laptop and just had to go buy a new one so haven't had a chance yet to put things onto the new computer. I'll get pics up soon though. Now I'm working again on our family Disney vacation album from last summer. I think I'm doing okay considering I haven't been doing scrapbook pages for long. I may have to take a break and do some cards as that's what I've traditionally done and love to do. I also need to make a cover for my Imagine and Expression. I found the fabric that is the same as the fabric from the Gypsy purse? provo made. I like the funky design and the bright colors will go well in my craft room. Just added more JetMax cubes to my space. It's officially larger than my quilting area now. Oh well.
I hope everyone else is having a great start to their summer.

Layout for Circle Drawing/Contest

So this weeks Cricut Circle challenge contest was based off of a sketch. I used some paper I recently got from It's the My Mind's Eye 'Quite Contrary' set. I used the Cricut Lite cartridge 'Hoot n' Holler' for the Owl and saying. Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE, LOVE my Imagine? Someone posted about this little program called Pixeur. It's a free program. To get the words and owl to color match, I found the paper I was using online. I was then able to use this program to get the RGB codes of the different colors in the paper. I then used those RGB codes in my Imagine with my Gypsy to fill the different pieces. I used a coordinating tag with a little owl and then the coordinating circle for journaling spots. Not sure what I'll put on there yet for pictures. I've been making layouts and putting them into a container. Eventually I'll add pictures! :)

Wow! So how many of you are going to be watching HSN to see the new Cricut E2 from ProvoCraft? I know I'll watch just to see all the great projects they show. I don't know that I'll be buying one, but I can drool right? :) Everyday Cricut is doing a giveaway for one here:

I'm putting my name in and will keep my fingers and toes crossed! :) They're also doing giveways of Emma's stamps and some of the new cartridges. Too cool.

Creating Keepsakes Convention

So I noticed I never put pictures up of what I made at the convention. I took a SEI class which is the gift bag and mini set. I then took a few LickitySplitScrapbook classes. I didn't realize I'd signed up for a few from the same person until I went to the 2nd one. So all the design credit goes to these guys. I made a mini board book album. I didn't know what this was at the time, but now I see a great way to upcycle/recycle those baby board books my girls have outgrown! The other was a Friendship Flip book. LOVE, LOVE this idea. A picture of the person goes on one side and when you flip it up, you have their name, birthday, email etc. on the other side. It has spurred other ideas for making a recipe flip book, address book, etc. I'll just share some of the images of what I made. I wouldn't feel right putting up how these were made as the designs are probably copyrighted.

Spring Break

So I've been on spring break this past week. I got a lot done in regards to crafting. My DH decided our girls would have fun with their Aunt, Cousin, and Grandparents so they spent most the week away. We went to get them and bring them home so we could have a family weekend. We spent all of today at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry Great place but I think it wore me out more than them! :) So, I did remember to take pictures of some of the things I did this week. The first I'll put up is the two scrapbook pages I did for my sister just for fun. The layout design (not the paper) is from LickitySplitScrapbooks. I went to the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Portland about two weeks ago and saw this saying and loved it so bought the kit just for it. I decided I wanted to use different paper though. The paper is from DCWV new Lemon Flower Stack. I love this stack. It has pretty yellow and greens with grey, silver and black. It's exclusive to Joann's.

Twilight Mini Album

I had never participated in a SWAP before, nor heard of a paperbag mini album. When I saw that someone was doing a Twilight Paperbag Mini Album swap I thought it sounded like something different and fun. This is my finished mini album I'll be mailing out this week to my partner and she'll be mailing hers to me. I used paper from the Immortal Stack you can get at Joanne's. The chess pieces I used my cricut to make from a file created by Makeupgirl217 who has her own website:
This has inspired my sister and I to do at least an overnight visit to Forks for fun since we live in the state of Washington. We'll then do our own mini albums / scrapbook album using pictures we took etc. I live in the area it was filmed along the Gorge and not far from the high school (Kalama) you see in all the outside shots. I'm amazed at how many pictures you can put into one of these albums by the time you add tags etc.
